The Kentucky Mobile Harm Reduction Program is a joint project with the Kentucky Department for Public Health, the Cabinet for Health and Family Services and the Kentucky Pharmacists Association. In November of 2016 the program held its first community naloxone training session in Madison County, KY. Utilizing Kentucky’s Mobile Pharmacy Surge Unit #1 and pharmacist volunteers from around the state to lead over 70 events and provide overdose prevention, recognition and response training to over 4,400 people and to dispense an equal amount of Narcan® nasal spray.
In April of 2019 we were excited to launch our new Kentucky Mobile Harm Reduction Unit dedicated solely to harm reduction efforts around the Commonwealth. These programs are supported by a variety of State and Federal grants.
Our goal is to help save lives across the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
Increase access and provide training to use the lifesaving drug naloxone
Decrease stigma surrounding substance use disorder through education
Decrease overdose deaths throughout the commonwealth
